Frequently Asked Questions related to Filesystem Backups
How do I add my computer(s) to CSE's nightly backups?
If you would like your computer(s) included in the backups, please contact technical support and include
- machine name
- OS type
- full path of directories you would like backed up
How do I recover files I accidentally deleted?
If it is the machine you sit at, you may recover the files yourself by going to our backup web interface. Choose host summary in the left-hand column, choose your host, choose the backup closest to the date you lost your files and select restore.
Alternatively, you may contact technical support and include
- machine name
- full path of files lost
- date files were lost
In most cases, files that have been missing for 2 weeks or less can be recovered.
