How to add an image to a page in Plone

How to Add an Image to a Webpage

Follow these instructions to add an image to a webpage in Plone.

Option 1: Add the image before adding or editing the page

This procedure describes adding the image before you add or edit the page you will be inserting it into.

  1. Log in to the CSE website : Only CSE and UC Davis affiliates are allowed to modify content on the CSE website. You need to use your UC Davis kerberos login to access certain areas of this website. To login, click the log in button in the upper-right hand corner of this page.
  2. Go to the destination folder : Browse to the folder where the image will be located using the navigation menus on the top and the side
  3. Add the Image : Click Add to Folder and select Image.
  4. Edit the Details and Upload : Fill in the details about the image including the Title, Description, and path to the file. You can click the browse button to find the file on your local system. Click save when you are done.
  5. Add Keywords : Click the Properties tab and add any keywords for the image. Click save when you are done to apply the changes.
  6. Go to the page you wish to edit : Browse to the page where the image will be inserted into.
  7. Edit the page : Click Edit tabe on the top. If you do not see the edit tab then you do not have permission to edit this page.
  8. Select the Insert Image Icon : Find where you wish to insert the image and click the Insert Image Icon .
  9. Add the Image : Browse to the folder where the image is located. Edit the Image details including the size (original, icon, thumbnail, etc) and location on the page (left, inline, or right).
  10. Save the Page : Click the save button to apply the changes

Option 2: Add the image while adding or editing the page

  2. Go to the page you wish to edit : Browse to the page where the image will be inserted into.

  4. Select the Insert Image Icon : Find where you wish to insert the image and click the Insert Image Icon .
  5. Upload the Image : Browse to the folder where the image will be located. Click the word Upload... in the middle pane. Browse the the Image on your local machine and add a title for the image and click OK.
  6. Edit the Image Details : Click the recently inserted image and select the Image Icon. Then, browse to the folder where the image is located. Edit the Image details including the size (original, icon, thumbnail, etc) and location on the page (left, inline, or right).
  7. Save the Page : Click the save button to apply the changes
